Small Engine Resources

For over 100 years, Briggs & Stratton has manufactured reliable small engines to be used in lawn mowers and other products, including generators, pressure washers, snow blowers, and leaf blowers. Each year, approximately 10 million of our engines are built in the United States and mounted on 8 out of the top 10 leading lawn mower brands. If you have own a lawn mower or other chore product, chances are its powered by a Briggs & Stratton.

Briggs & Stratton engines have evolved in many ways since the Type P (for “Portable”) rolled off the Milwaukee assembly line in October 1920, introducing practical small engines for residential and commercial use. Since then, we’ve built our engines to become quieter, lighter, cleaner, and more powerful to match the expanding needs of our customers.
