MILWAUKEE (August 26, 2015) — The countdown to the 2015-2016 tailgating season is on – and thanks to Briggs & Stratton’s inverter technology on PowerSmart Series™ portable generators, outdoor recreation and tailgating enthusiasts have access to even more quiet, smart, consistent and affordable power.
“Extreme tailgating enthusiasts who require more power than a standard 3-kilowatt inverter, but still want the benefit of quiet operation, have the ability to connect two Briggs & Stratton PowerSmart Series P3000 inverter units,” said Dan Roche, director of marketing for Briggs & Stratton’s Portable Power and Cleaning Systems group. “Our parallel kit allows two P3000 inverter units to be connected for up to 4,800 continuous watts of clean, quiet power.”
Parallel capabilities provide the additional power needed to enable users to continue running their big screen TV, gaming systems and stereos, while simultaneously keeping outdoor light strings on, charging cell phones and using portable appliances.
PowerSmart inverters feature computer-controlled technology that continuously and automatically adjusts engine speed to reduce noise and fuel consumption. Producing less than three percent harmonic distortion, the inverter technology behind PowerSmart generators makes them safe for powering laptops, TVs, gaming systems and other sensitive electronics. The twin-handle design makes it easy for two people to lift and transport the generator from one location to the next. The P3000’s luggage-style, lift assist transportation system allows for easy maneuverability by one person with its telescoping handle.
The P3000 is the first inverter in its class that offers a USB charging outlet and StatStation® LCD wattage monitor/maintenance reminder. Equipped with four household outlets, one 12-volt 30-amp locking outlet with RV adaptor, a DC charging outlet and the USB port, this inverter can be used for a variety applications . The easy-to-read LCD screen shows the amount of power being used (with an available 2,600 running watts, 3,000 starting surge*), total unit hours and maintenance reminders, including oil, air filter and spark plug changes.
* Generators are certified in accordance with CSA (Canadian Standards Association) standard C22.2 No. 100-04 (motors and generators) and rated in accordane with PGMA (Portable Generator Manufacturers’ Association) standard PGMA 200 (Standard for Testing and Validating Performance of Portable Generators).
