MILWAUKEE (October, 2012) – Briggs & Stratton Corporation’s news release on its 2011 Yard Care Intervention program earned an award for extensive media coverage from the North American Precis Syndicate, Inc. (NAPS). The release received 1,392 placements over a five month period, earning a Golden Thinker Award from the release distribution firm.
In the release, homeowners were invited to showcase their yard care issues in words and pictures for an opportunity to win an on-site intervention from lawn and garden experts. Consumers selected the winning entries via online voting. In addition to on-the-ground help in improving their yards, winners also received new yard care equipment powered by Briggs & Stratton engines and $1,500 in landscape cash. The news release also offered tips on how to improve one’s outdoor space.
According to NAPS, the release was in the top 1 percent of releases distributed by the firm in 2011 in terms of coverage. The intervention story appeared in publications across 47 states including the nation’s top 50 markets. Briggs & Stratton received a Golden Thinker statue and a certificate of achievement.
