Fuel Hose Removal & Re-installation Instructions

For DIY Part No. 5414

FITS ENGINES:

Fits most Briggs and Stratton engines.

1. Run engine until it stops from lack of fuel. Wait until engine cools before performing any maintenance.

2. Using standard pliers, squeeze tabs on hose clamps and slide them away from hose ends.

3. Remove hose from fittings. Beware of residual fuel in hose. Keep old hose to use as a measure for the proper length of new hose.

WARNING

Gasoline and its vapors are extremely flammable and explosive. Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death.

• If fuel spills, wipe it up immediately.

• Do not attempt to start engine until fuel evaporates.

4. Trim replacement hose to same length as discarded hose.

NOTICE: Trimming hose may leave small burrs or particles which may fall into the hose. Ensure hose is not clogged with dirt or particles before installing. Dirt or particles will clog fuel line or damage engine.

5. Install new clamps onto each end of hose. Install new hose over fittings, and secure with clamps.

6. Upon first use, check for leaks!

WARNING

• If fuel is leaking: Stop engine, and re-secure hose and clamp.

Consult with an Authorized Service Dealer for assistance, if required.
