Air Filter Upgrade Kit Installation Instructions

Replaces: 5001/27987S Air Filter 5009/270579S Air Filter

FITS ENGINES: 
4.50-5.50 ft-lbs Gross Torque†, 300-550 Series™; 
3.0-5.0 Gross HP‡ Classic™, Sprint™, Quattro™, and Q™

AIR FILTER UPGRADE KIT

1.  Remove and retain screw (A) for later reassembly. 
2. Remove and discard the original cover (B), filter (C), filter cup (if equipped), base (D), and gasket (E). 
3. Install new gasket on carburetor, then install new base. 
4. Saturate new filter in clean engine oil, then squeeze to remove excess oil. Place filter in base. 
5. Install cover and secure the air filter assembly to the engine with the original screw.

NOTICE: Air filter must be oiled or engine damage will occur. Saturate foam in engine oil. Squeeze to remove excess oil.

Replace filter cartridge at three month intervals or 25 hours, 
whichever occurs first. Replace more often under extremely dusty conditions.
