Rated 1 out of 5 by from Quit working after three times This lawnmower is poorly made. It started right up the first time and the second time I used it. The third time took a little work. The fourth time, I had to empty the gas out and put new gas in, take the carb apart and clean it. Then it started. The fifth time, more fiddling and new gas before it started, but then it stalled often. The sixth time nothing. Doesn't work. Won't start. A piece of junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used once. Then DEAD! Bought this engine attached to a Poulan Pro mower. Used it ONE TIME and now it won't start. So, this is what I have to look forward to ... major maintenance or repair after every use??? It's going to be a fun summer!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brand new and wouldn't start. This wouldn't start on a new lawnmower straight from the store. Primer bulb wouldn't draw in any fuel. From reviews it sounds like this was a bad carb like the others. Then we had to fight with Aubuchon hardware for two hours to get a refund on a product we never used. If you purchase one of these make sure the retailer will refund your money and not try to force you through warrantee channels for another useless replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Purchased this mower as a replacement about a month and half ago. I've used the mower a total of two times and it will no longer start. As other reviews state, this seems to be an issue with the carburetor. Selling an engine which will require service after 2-3 uses is in my opinion inexcusable. Will be taking it in to be serviced in the next couple days however in the future I will not be buying engines from B&S again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid!!! I bought a Viking 248 3 months ago which uses the 450e engine. I have used it 3 times and it is hunting terribly. This was caused by a blocked carb, which is apparently a known fault on this engine. Read reviews for yourself, after 2 or 3 uses, the carb will block. Your warranty will not cover you for a blocked carb either. I just wish I had read the reviews before buying it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MCCULLOCH M51-125M I really like this little engine. It's powerful enough for smaller lawns even with bio clip. What I was most suprised by, were how quiet it was. Low and round tone. Not brittle and high like old lawn mower engines. I don't use ear protection, since the db is so low.
