Motor/Appliance Starting Wattage
Does starting a motor or appliance/tool require an initial higher wattage? What about amperage?
Induction motors require larger amounts of electricity during initial start-up than when they are running. Starting certain appliances and tools, such as your refrigerator/freezer, furnace fan, air conditioner, electric chain saw, weed trimmer, etc. may also need increased wattage.
Additional amperage may also be required to start some motors/appliances.
This should all be taken into consideration when sizing a generator to meet your needs.
