Most walk mowers equipped with Briggs & Stratton engines fall into a common power range. The amount of power your engine provides determines the amount of work you can do. All Briggs & Stratton engines are sized in cubic centimeters (cc) and will be rated in one of the power ratings* below.
-Horsepower (HP) is the amount of raw potential an engine can generate. HP ratings are stated as gross horsepower at 3600 RPM per SAE J1940 as rated by Briggs & Stratton.
-Kilowatt (kW) is the metric equivalent of Horsepower.
-Torque Power (TQ) is the amount of rotational power that can be measured. TQ ratings are stated as gross torque at 2600 RPM per SAE J1940 as rated by Briggs & Stratton.
