I have  new 22 hp john deere, what size of oil filter do I need

Asked by: Markos

My engine is a 24 hp Intek V-twin. How do I reset the engine hour meter "change oil" message? I changed the oil at 50 hours and the oil and filter at 100 hours, and now at 150 hours the oil again, but the hour meter still flashes change oil.

Asked by: gdub
The hour meter in a part of the equipment the engine is on. Please contact the equipment manufacture to determine how to reset the maintenance meter.

How do I know if my mower engine should have an oil filter.  My manual says it should but I cannot find it.  The B&S engine is a 31A607 0741 B2.  But even that manual says it may or may not have an oil filter.  Is there a way to check for sure?

Asked by: DadF
This engine was made with and without a filter. You need to look at the sump of the engine for the filter.

Bought an older used mower with a B&S 21hp V-twin. It has no oil filter, but has a small oil filter shaped cap about 3/4 inch in depth where the oil filter is installed on my other B&S V-twin - can the cap be removed and a regular oil filter installed?

Where on the mower is the oil filter located ?

Asked by: Bruce05
Some small engine may not have an oil filter. If the engine is equipped with an oil filter it is located near the bottom of the engine attached to the engines sump.
