Check to make sure that the valves are set to the correct clearance. If there are not the engine can build either too much or not enough compression to start the engine. Here is a link that will help you with this:

engine blowing white smoke .heavy

Asked by: verndog
White smoke indicate that you are burning oil. Causes to this condition include: 1. Overfilling the crankcase with oil 2. Incorrect oil grade 3. Operating or storing the engine at greater than a 15 degree angle 4. Inoperative crankcase breather 5. Crankcase air leak 6. Blown head gasket 7. Worn cylinder and/or rings 8. Fuel mixing with oil (clean and rebuild the carburetor)

whats wrong when engine turn to a certain point but mower will not start, oil gas mixture in exhaust how do i fix problem

Asked by: c12ing
This could be due to a carburetor blockage or a stuck carburetor float needle and seat, the needle and seat is worn, or a problematic fuel solenoid (if equipped). You will want to drain the fuel and replace with fresh fuel. Next clean the carburetor. Here is a link on how to clean the carb:

How do I change the starter on my 42707 model engine?

when my mower gets hot and I shut it off, to wash out the mower deck, it won't restart until it cools off. The starter grinds but it just won't start, no matter if I choke it or not.
