If the engine Model, Type, and Trim numbers are not entered into our website's search fields correctly, they will fail to be recognized.
When entering your engine numbers in the search fields, ensure that hyphens are included to separate the engine Model, Type, and Trim numbers, with no spaces (XXXXXX-XXXX-XX). If the letters M, T, or C appears before the numbers stamped on your engine, DO NOT include these letters in the entry fields.
Engines built before 1958, or those engines which have a model number of less than 5 characters will not be recognized in our database. Please be aware that some model numbers contain letters. For example, try not to confuse a "Q" for "0" or a "H" for a "4".
Also, make certain that the numbers are taken from the engine itself and not from the equipment. We cannot cross-reference our numbers with the Original Equipment Manufacturer's (OEM's) numbering system. Please visit our Briggs & Stratton Engine Identification page for assistance in locating the engine numbers.
