Rubber Primer Bulb Worn/Broken

Why is the rubber primer bulb for my engine worn/broken?

Typically, the primer bulb begins to deteriorate once the fuel becomes stale. Ensure that only clean, fresh fuel is used in the engine, and that it is treated with a fuel stabilizer such as Briggs & Stratton Advanced Formula Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer.
