What is my engine displacement?
The displacement would depend on the model of your engine. Typically, the first 2 numbers of the model number signify the general displacement of your engine in cubic inches (unless your engine starts with a 6, 8, or 9). Your Operator's Manual states the displacement of your engine.
For assistance in locating your engine numbers, please visit our Engine Identification FAQ page.
A good source for engine specifications and technical servicing information would be a Briggs & Stratton Repair Manual. The correct Repair Manual for your model engine is often listed in your engine's Illustrated Parts List.
Repair Manuals are available for purchase through our websites Learning Resources section or locally from a Briggs & Stratton Authorized Dealer.
Your best source of information regarding any engine concern would be a Briggs & Stratton Authorized Dealer.
