Danger of Back Feeding Generators

Can I back feed my generator through my dryer receptacle?

NO!

Back feeding a generator through a receptacle should not be done due to the serious danger it poses for people working on the electrical lines. Electricity being fed through the utility box and then through the electrical lines can result in death.

To meet local and national codes, all electrical connections should be made by a licensed electrician. It is against NEC code to connect directly into your home. Generator power must be isolated from utility power.
