The engine model number is the first 12 characters stamped into metal directly on your engine in one of two locations. Following is an example of what the engine model number looks like:

Where to Locate Your Engine Model Number

On the valve cover stamped on the metal plate over the overhead valve (OHV) or on an aluminum tag the model number is located on top of the blower housing right next to the rotating screen.
