When you purchase your lawn mower there are a couple of important things to remember before you put your mower to use.
- Be sure to adjust the height of your mower to the preferred height. Generally mowers are preset to the lowest height for packaging purposes. Briggs & Stratton recommends that every time you cut your law, you cut 1/3 of the length of the grass.
- Make sure the mower has the correct amount of oil before you run the mower for the first time. Generally, mowers are shipped without oil, but will give you the necessary amount with your newly purchased lawn mower.
- Briggs & Stratton recommends buying fuel stabilizer to keep your gas fresh. Gas begins to go stale after 30 days sitting in a gas tank. With fuel stabilizer, gas can last up to 6 months.
