New Manufacturing Plant

Ostrava Manufacturing Plant

In December 2006, Briggs & Stratton Corporation started production in its first European manufacturing plant in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The factory, which is situated on 3 hectares in the Hrabove industrial zone, manufactures vertical-shaft petrol engines for lawn and garden applications.

This facility allows to better fill the increase in demand for Briggs & Stratton engines in Europe and also underlines Briggs & Stratton’s commitment to the European market. Building engines closer to the customer’s factories lets Briggs & Stratton respond quicker to their needs, just as having a comprehensive dealer network in Europe ensures fast Briggs & Stratton service after the engine is put into use.

The plant has a manufacturing capacity of over 1 million engines per year.
