Air Filter Removal & Re-installation Instructions 
For Service Part No. 790166 / DIY Part No. 5404

FITS ENGINES:
4.75-5.25 ft-lbs Gross Torque†, 475-525 Series™
3.5-4.0 Gross HP/CV‡

 

REMOVING AND RE-INSTALLING AIR FILTER
1. Push in the tabs located on the sides of the air filter cover (A), while pulling cover off.
2. Remove cartridge (B) carefully to prevent debris from entering carburetor.
3. Re-install new air filter assembly in base (C).
4. Replace cover by securely snapping tabs back into place.

Replace filter cartridge at three month intervals or 25 hours,
whichever occurs first. Replace more often under extremely dusty conditions.

NOTICE: Do not use pressurized air or solvents to clean cartridge. Pressurized air can damage cartridge; solvents will dissolve cartridge.
