Very reliable and efficient engine - superb quality I bought this engine a few months back as a replacement engine for a large cylinder mower, and it is the best thing I have ever done for that mower. It always starts first pull even in the cold and is surprisingly fuel efficient. The engine doesn't seem to be bothered by loads, obviously within it's range as you can't ask a 6 odd horsepower engine to do the job of a 13 horsepower, and so far it hasn't even stalled out on me when cutting thick grass so I'm very impressed with it. The only slight problem is it is a bit noisy, it has a lovely mellow exhaust note but it's loud, although this can be avoided by using a different muffler as I believe there are a few options I could've chosen instead, but it's not a big problem for me. Overall I'm very impressed with this engine and would highly recommend it over something like a Honda clone engine, it is so much more reliable and better built and of course there's Briggs and Stratton there to help if necessary, it's a superb engine and I highly recommend it :) January 8, 2012

Better Engineering Required !!! Bought this very heavy C'man machine as backup to my C'man S'blower with Intek 7.75 HP(which simply cuts out intermittently and fails restart unless total cool down). My Drive has a 300 ftx 15' wide , 25 degree hill plus a large Y with 50' wide foot aprons. One is 20 degree and 100 ' to the house and other is flat and 100 '. Total is 2.5 to 3 hours of snow blowing. Third year and third heavy snow Dec 2010 and suddenly oil blew out from the base area of engine with about 60% remaining. Snow was normal 10" and not wet or otherwise heavy. Impossible to have service as 2 appointments unable to climb drive and too heavy for me to lift into 4x4 pickup bed. Not a belt... an engine failure! Nightmare! December 18, 2011
