Briggs & Stratton Introduces the 206 Racing Engine Build Sheet

The local 206 sealed engine platform first came into the market in 2008 as a new approach to cost-effective, out-of-the-box racing. The use of dedicated tooling and dies, top-tier vendor partners, and the lost craftsmanship of hand building each engine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin help insure the highest level of repeatability and consistency available on the market today. Backed by a factory written rule set, the 206 crate engine has become one of today’s fastest growing classes by showing that national races can be won with engines right out of the box and that unnecessary costs can be controlled.

Throughout the 206 manufacturing process components undergo a rigorous inspection system. “At the end of the day our products define us” stated David Klaus – Director – Briggs & Stratton Racing. “Although this is only the final step in the process, it allows our customers to actually see the craftsmanship that goes into every engine we build. There is nothing in our manufacturing process that is automated. Every part and every assembly is hand checked and inspected at every step, including the final assembly. If you want to know your engine’s piston pop-up or depth of your combustion chamber when it left the factory, it’s now written right on your build sheet. Consistency begins with engineering and designing an engine for the rigors of racing and ends with precision manufacturing from a company passionate about racing.”
