The 2012 Briggs & Stratton 206 Racing engine Rule Set Released

The Briggs & Stratton factory 206 engine rule set is now available for the 2012 racing season.  ‘Most engines used in 4-cycle kart racing today are mass produced and ultimately a compromise, the 206 racing engine platform is manufactured with dedicated tooling and each engine is hand assembled to a level of control not possible in main stream manufacturing’ stated Dave Klaus – Director, Briggs & Stratton Racing.  ‘This rule set reflects this level of precision and eliminates the unnecessary costs that come from dealing with varying manufacturing inconsistencies.  Where other manufacturers have piston pop-up tolerances of +/- .020, every 206 engine cylinder is custom cut to within a couple thousandths of the maximum allowable.  Where other programs have dozens of different head castings, the 206 program uses one.  We now have a rule set that matches this level of precision manufacturing.’
