Briggs & Stratton Corporation Partners with Milwaukee County Parks for a second year to clean up green space in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE – (May 8, 2009) – Briggs & Stratton Corporation employees and their families will participate in a cleanup/improvement effort at Greenfield Park, 124th St. and Greenfield Ave., on Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. The event will improve the landscape of the park, while giving something back to the community.

“Briggs & Stratton is proud to partner with the Milwaukee County Parks System to clean up green space,” said Todd Teske, Briggs & Stratton COO. “We had over 200 people volunteer last year at McCarty Park, and the response was so positive we wanted to continue the tradition. We’ve been a part of this community for over 100 years, so this is a natural fit for our employees given the nature of our engine and lawn care business.”

Some of the work in this employee-only event includes picking up litter, cleaning the outside of the pool area, grooming the parking lot area, washing walls, raking sand in the tot-lot area, planting flowers near the pool area, and beautifying the edge of the lagoon.
