Briggs & Stratton selects Higher Horizons Scholarship winners

$1000 to be donated to their college selection; presentation to take place at Milwaukee Brewers game

June 16, 2008 - Wauwatosa, WI – Briggs & Stratton recently announced the winners of the “Higher Horizons” scholarship program. Each year, Briggs & Stratton works with Milwaukee Public Schools to select students who exude academic distinction, community activism and personal excellence.

“We are thrilled to award these exceptional students our Higher Horizons Scholarships,” said Laura Timm, Director of Corporate Communications. “Briggs & Stratton has developed a wonderful partnership with Milwaukee Public Schools, and we look forward to that partnership flourishing for many years to come.”

The three winners are:

• Sheila Stokes, New School for Community Services
• Reginald T. Thompson II, Bradley Tech High School
• Antoinette Turner, Milwaukee School of Entrepreneurship

Each winner will each receive a $1,000 scholarship to the academic institution of his or her choice. Official awards will be presented at a Milwaukee Brewers game (date to be determined).
