BRIGGS & STRATTON TO LAUNCH LAWN MOWER TRADE IN PROGRAM AT SELECT SNAPPER DEALERS IN CONJUNCTION WITH EARTH DAY.

MARCH 27, 2008 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Briggs & Stratton Corporation announced today the launch of a new pilot lawnmower trade-in program in conjunction with the Company’s 100th anniversary and Earth Day. The pilot program will run at selected Snapper® Dealers in the metro Milwaukee area from April 1 through May 10, 2008. Briggs & Stratton, in conjunction with Miller Compressing, will recycle the consumer’s old lawn mower for free and will also issue a $30 Instant Trade-in Rebate towards the purchase of a new Snapper Mower.

“What a great way to recycle that old mower in your garage and help the environment at the same time,” stated John Mourand, Environmental Compliance Manager at Briggs & Stratton. “Engines on new Snapper mowers are up to 15% more fuel-efficient and emit up to 75% less emissions than units sold before 1997,” Mourand said.
