Are you a first-time homeowner who needs some serious help getting your yard in shape? Enter for your chance to win a coveted spot in the first-ever Yard Smarts Boot Camp! If selected, you'll be drilled on the basics of growing a great lawn and creating an inviting outdoor space that'll have your neighbors standing at attention.
No yelling. No pushups. Just good, green fun.
Ten contest winners will be treated to personal instruction from "Drill Sgt. Trey Rogers" (or our very own Yard Doctor) during a fun-packed, two-day Boot Camp this fall. They'll also earn a new set of essential yard care tools, including a mower, pressure washer and a Sears Gift Card for shovels, rakes, loppers and other necessities.
And winners have the chance to do good for more than just their own yards. They'll also be whisked away to a location chosen by online visitors, where they'll receive basic yard care training while working on a lawn care project for community service. How to sign up for Boot Camp.
For the chance to win, send a short video (two minutes max) or photo montage, along with your most creative plea for yard help, to http://www.yardsmartsbootcamp.com. Each month from March through July, judges including the Yard Doctor will select five Boot Camp semi-finalists. Online visitors can then vote to select each month's two winners who will attend. Runners up will receive a $100 Sears Gift Card toward a new lawn mower and a commemorative Boot Camp duffel bag and water bottle.
